Description Of Work:
My bathroom had not been remodeled for 23 yrs. Scott came in and gutted the bathroom and constructed a new bathroom for me. He was on time and called if he would be late. He went over everything with me everything he did that day and told me what he was going to do tomorrow. He cleaned up everyday before he left. Presto’s was a great company to work with. They addressed my concerns in a timely manner. My bathroom cameout great. I would use them again.

Description Of Work:
The contractor replaced the siding on my house with a combination of fiber cement (Hardie brand) and vinyl.

Before hiring the contractor, I phoned about a half dozen former clients. They all praised the contractor’s quality. They also commented that their jobs ended up costing more than they expected. However, none blamed the contractor. The contractor and estimator (Tom) did an excellent job of helping us decide on what to do and how much it would cost. The contractor sent a proposal I considered vague, so I wrote a set of specifications to try to avoid misunderstandings. I didn’t think of every little detail, but the contractor showed reasonable flexibility. I recommend that your have an architect draws up specs. Include a porta-potty, repairing damage to the property in a timely manner, fixing the lawn where they tear it up, and document warranties they offer (paint). These were all issues for us. The contractor requires a third at the closing, a third when they show up to begin the job, and a third when the job is completed. When I signed the contract they said they planned to start the first week of April and would be finished in a few weeks. Due the weather, some personal issues, problems with other jobs, etc., etc., the work wasn’t finished until the end of June. (It was the end of August before they fixed a window they broke in May.) They could have done a better job of keeping me informed when plans changed. The subcontractors were good and Scott, the contractor’s Foreman, is first rate – very professional, reliable, and honest. He has a positive attitude. Mr. Preston, the owner, did not consistantly follow through on things he said he would do. However, I am pleased with the quality of the work. The house looks much better. The job ending up costing what was estimated.

He came out and did an estimate for tearing off old siding and installing a new wrap and replace all my siding with hardy board. They would also redo all the trim around the windows with hardy board as well. The estimate also included the soffets and all trim.

He was a very nice person. He was on time and gave me the quote within a couple of days. It was a very pleasant experience. He came out and spent a good 45 minutes with me explaining the quote and the process. I was not familiar with the materials so he was quite informative. He was late, but he did call so I did not mind. I could not find a lot of documentation about him online and knew no one personally that had used him. He is worth talking to. His quote was higher than the company I am having do the work. I had a neighbor recommend the contractor I am using. Those 2 factors is what made me choose the other contractor.

He installed new hardy cement siding on my home and painted the siding.

I had hired another company and they subcontracted the job out. The first company they sent to do the work did a terrible job and Preston’s had to come out and redo the work. They removed the damaged material and installed the hardy plank siding. Once the siding was up, they painted it. They were on the ball. I would have no reservations about hiring them again.
